In the last decade men’s fashion, helped along by the numerous style blogs that have sprang up, has quickly eveolved. Men are getting back to the basics of style, while at the same time looking for ways to make a statement. The modern gent wants the right haircut, the right shoe, the right pair of jeans, and the right suit; all in all, he wants the right look.
At EITR, we are fully aware that we are in the era of the modern gentleman, and building the right wardrobe is key. It is no easy feat, and always a work in progress, but with a little patience and the right know-how you can put together test basic staples that you can build around with ease.
A great starting point is finding a great pair of jeans! You’ll want to get educated on knowing what you are looking for (an awesome site for your denim 101 is rawrdenim.com). Next, start with a clean slate and get you a nice pair of dark jeans and break them in yourself. Over time you’ll create your own wear n tear that will make your denim unique. The most important thing outside of quality, when choosing denim, is fit. Knowing yourself and your personal style is very important. Know what you are comfortable in and take someone along(preferably someone with a good sense of style) to help you decide what is a good fit for you. But keep in mind, denim stretches over time and forms to you body, so too perfect of a fit in a new pair of jeans isn’t always ideal. Get them a little snug.
The great thing is that there are a ton of places to find a good pair of jeans. If you want to go with a timeless classic like Levi’s, JC Penney has recently revamped their men’s dept. and has a great selection of Levi’s in several fits and styles.
